Karen Testman and John Bishop Named Top Hospital and Health System CFOs
FOUNTAIN VALLEY and LONG BEACH, Calif., June 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Two MemorialCare Health System Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) have been named among "150 Hospital & Health System CFOs to Know in the U.S." by Becker's Hospital Review. MemorialCare is the only health system in Los Angeles and Orange counties with two CFOs on the list.
Karen Testman, RN, CFO of MemorialCare Health System, and John Bishop, CFO of Long Beach Memorial, Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach, Community Hospital Long Beach and Seaside Health Plan, are described by Becker's Hospital Review as "the most impressive health care finance executives in the country."
With more than 20 years of health care experience, Testman was MemorialCare Health System's Senior Vice President of Financial Operations before becoming CFO in 2013. Since joining MemorialCare in 1998, she has been CFO at Orange Coast Memorial in Fountain Valley and Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills and San Clemente. Previously Testman was in public accounting and began her career as a registered nurse. She is a popular national speaker on health care finance, mergers and acquisitions, and operational topics, as well as quoted frequently in business publications.
Bishop became Senior Vice President & CFO of MemorialCare's three Long Beach hospitals in 2009 and CFO for Seaside Health Plan in 2014. He also oversees the financial operations of Memorial Medical Center Foundation, a philanthropic support organization with more than $180 million in assets. He was previously CFO at Saddleback Memorial in Laguna Hills and San Clemente and spent 12 years in public accounting, serving prominent health care organizations. He is treasurer of California Children's Hospital Association, is a CPA and speaks frequently on health care topics.
