HOUSTON, Nov. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Memorial Hermann is expanding into the Bay Area with plans to open its ninth Convenient Care Center in League City. The nearly 47,000 square-foot medical facility will be the largest of its kind for Memorial Hermann. Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Center in League City will be built in Pinnacle Park, a 100-acre mixed use town center development.
The new Convenient Care Center will be a free standing 24-hour emergency department that offers on-site imaging and lab services. Other components will include a breast center, physical therapy and a multi-specialty care clinic.
In addition, adult and primary care services from Memorial Hermann Medical Group physicians will be available. These unique services, all in one location, take the stress out of scheduling appointments.
"The Convenient Care Center provides convenient, walk-up access to a wide variety of high quality services offered through Memorial Hermann -- from emergency care to primary care," says Kyle Price, Sr. Vice President, CEO, Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital. "If a patient at the Convenient Care Center is evaluated and it's determined they need an even higher level of care, they can be quickly and easily transferred to Memorial Hermann Southeast."
The Convenient Care Center is modeled after sister facilities that are operational in Summer Creek, Pearland, South Katy and Sienna Plantation, and facilities currently or soon to be under construction in Cypress, Spring, Kingwood and Greater Heights.
"We want to be sure we are not just meeting the needs of the community, we want to exceed the needs of the community," says Jim Brown, Sr. Vice President, CEO, ambulatory services at Memorial Hermann. "The Convenient Care Center in League City will bring a new level of healthcare to the area from the Memorial Hermann name many have grown to trust."
"We are excited to have Memorial Hermann expanding its services in League City," says League City Mayor, Tim Paulissen. "Our community is growing rapidly and we are eager to have Memorial Hermann grow with us to meet the needs of our community."
Construction on the Convenient Care Center in League City is expected to begin in the summer of 2016 and is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2017. Pinnacle Alliance Fund, Inc. is developing Pinnacle Park which will also be home to the Houston area's first Cabela's store, currently under construction just north of where the Convenient Care Center will be located.
Construction of the Convenient Care Center is part of Memorial Hermann's strategic growth initiative, Breaking New Ground. Through ongoing construction projects in some of the fastest growing areas of the region Memorial Hermann is working to fulfill its mission of "advancing health" in the communities it serves.
