MEMIC Hire Expands Presence in Virginia and Maryland

PORTLAND, Maine, Oct. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Workers' compensation specialist The MEMIC Group has announced the appointment of Roger Comer as Senior Production Underwriter to serve its agents in Northern Virginia and Maryland.

"We've hired 4 new positions in our Tysons Corner, Virginia office this year in addition to Roger," said Vice President of Underwriting Tod Austin. Roger Comer brings more than 12 years of insurance industry experience to the MEMIC team and will be responsible for identifying areas of opportunity and growing new and renewal business. Comer was most recently the Marketing Underwriter for FCCI Insurance Group responsible for the state of Maryland and previous to that was Commercial Lines Territory Manager for Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. with Berkley Mid-Atlantic Group. Comer is a certified Associate in Claims (AIC) and Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI). He holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland College Park.
