Members of Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS® to Volunteer at US Treasury and HUD Foreclosure Event

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 100 members of the Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS® will volunteer their time February 24 at the "Help for Homeowners Community Event", a fair organized by the US departments of Treasury and of Housing and Urban Development to assist homeowners at risk of foreclosure.

Hundreds of SCCAOR REALTORS® have volunteered with City of San Jose's foreclosure events in the past. They understand the need to help homeowners to get back on their feet and back on the road to recovery. Using their experience and knowledge of real estate, SCCAOR members are skilled at helping homeowners with the mortgage-related documents.

"REALTORS® understand the plight of homeowners in distress and they are willing to set aside time in their lives to help these homeowners," said Mike Sibilia, president of the Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS®. "We thank our volunteers for their dedication to the community and their tireless work."

The "Help for Homeowners Community Event" will be held at the San Jose Convention Center, 150 West San Carlos St, San Jose, from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and will be free to all homeowners.
