POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y., Feb. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Melissa Nielsen is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Professional in the field of Nursing.
Nielsen is currently employed as a Service Coordinator with Nursing Home Diversion Programs, and has over 25 years of health care experience such as providing hospitalization assessments and home health aides. Prior to working at her current nursing program facility, she was a medical social worker assistant for the County of Rockland.
In her current role, she is responsible for acting as a liaison between patients and other hospital staff, as well as providing one-on-one guidance and support for patients. Over the years, she has developed her professional expertise and is now a specialist in Dementia, Crisis Management, and Discharge.
In order to further her professional development, Nielsen is a part of the Rockland Crisis Team in her county. She has also received the Recognition of Achievement Award from the International Women's Association.
Nielsen studied Social Work at both Dominican College and Adelphi University. She also attended Franciscan High School in Mohegan Lake, New York.
