Melissa Murer Corrigan to Serve as 2011 ICE President

WASHINGTON, Nov. 18, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, Melissa Murer Corrigan, will serve as the 2011 president of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE) and will be installed at the ICE Annual Education Conference on November 18th in Atlanta, Ga. ICE is a non-profit organization that provides educational, networking and advocacy resources for the credentialing community.
During her 2011 term, Murer Corrigan will focus on the growing demand for skilled workers with certification across the country. She will also highlight the vital role credentialing organizations play in helping America's workforces demonstrate competence in key industries, improve job prospects for reemployment, and remain competitive in the economy.

Murer Corrigan has served as the Executive Director and CEO for PTCB since 1995 and is a recognized leader in the credentialing and certification fields. She has received countless accolades for her work, including the National Organization for Competency Assurance's Certification Industry Leadership Award in 2008 and the Drake Lawrence C. and Delores M. Weaver Medal of Honor in 2010. Murer Corrigan previously served on the ICE Board of Directors and as president of the Board of Directors for the Council on Credentialing in Pharmacy.
