Meijer Ready to Make Sunday Super
An estimated total of $14.1 billion is expected to be spent on this year's big game
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Jan. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- As Super Sunday approaches, Meijer is helping kick off the festivities with insights on how much food and drink football fans are expected to consume as they celebrate the big game.
The National Retail Federation expects 45 million fans to throw a Super Sunday party, spending approximately $14.1 billion this year. Being the second largest day of food consumption in the United States, Meijer expects to sell a massive amount of groceries including 875,000 avocados to make more than 400,000 pounds of guacamole and more than half a million jars of salsa.
