Meet Sandie Gardner, President of U-Haul Company of Rhode Island

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I., April 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Sandie Gardner's belief in "people first" will be a great asset in her new role as marketing company president of U-Haul Company of Rhode Island. Gardner knows her people are the company's greatest strength. They are proud of their U-Haul positions and happy to come to work every day, as she is. With more than nine years of U-Haul service herself, Gardner knows she has a great team in place to do their part in bringing success to the company.

Gardner began her U-Haul career in March 2005 as storage manager for U-Haul Moving and Storage of Pawtucket. She was promoted to general manager shortly after and served in this role until her recent promotion. As marketing company president of U-Haul Company of Rhode Island, Gardner will oversee all operations including truck, trailer and storage rentals.

"Our customers and U-Haul Team members are of prime importance to U-Haul," Gardner explained. "That old-fashioned value is hard to find these days, and that's why I'm so proud to be on this team."

Gardner's plan for success includes keeping lines of communications open and listening carefully to what her coworkers have to say. With many years of combined experience, she knows that her team members will learn from one another. She also puts emphasis on developing balanced growth in all programs, specifically U-Haul Company's U-Box Program. Gardner explained that she still learns something new every day in her new role, and she believes in the programs, policies and procedures that are in place, stating, "If you let them guide you, you can't go wrong."
