SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Power management leader Kinetic Technologies is leading the charge with its dual- and quad-channel active EMI and ESD suppression technology, the KTA1550 and KTA1552. This integrated CMOS technology for suppression and transient voltage protection has been architected and designed to provide system-level ESD protection and EMI suppression in Ethernet products, enabling a smoother path to EMC compliance.
"Our patented active choke technology allows the KTA1550 and KTA1552 to offer superior common mode noise reduction without degrading Ethernet performance," says Kinetic Technologies Vice President David Nam. "The adaptive and continuous suppression compensates for variables that cause common mode Ethernet noise and improves the differential-to-common mode balance of the system by as much as 10dB. In short, system designers can now meet EMI emissions and EMI immunity requirements from the start of their designs, saving time and costly corrections down the road."
The KTA1550 supports two twisted pair interfaces in a space saving 4mm x 2.5mm 16-pin TDFN package and is suitable for 10Base-T/100Base-TX applications (two for 1000Base-T applications). The KTA1552 supports four twisted pair interfaces in a 9mm x 4mm 36-pin DFN package and is suitable for 1000Base-T applications.
Key applications for the Kinetic Technologies EMI and ESD suppressor product family include:
- Ethernet systems requiring additional CM suppression to meet EMC Class B emissions or higher EMI immunity requirements and ESD protection
- Power over Ethernet (PoE) and non-PoE Ethernet systems
- Voice over IP (VoIP) phones, IP cameras, Wireless Access Points (WAPs), routers and switches
- Set-top boxes, networked printers and appliances, and desktop and laptop computers
The KTA1550 and KTA1552 are available and shipping now. Visit Kinetic Technologies for more information.
