Celebrated novelists and guest judges Laura Dave (author of The Divorce Party), Jane Green (author of Promises to Keep), and Allison Winn Scotch (author of The One That I Want) have hand selected four runner up authors to receive an e-book publishing contract and iPod Touch, and one grand prize winner who will receive an e-book publishing contract on the MeeGenius! proprietary publishing platform and an iPad.

- Grand Prize: Pajama Girl by Sarah Perry (librarian and mother from the metro-Detroit Area) and Ingvard the Terrible (University of Central Oklahoma graduate and Senior Design Director and Illustrator)
- 1st Runner Up: The Cat Just Sat in the Chair by D.T. Walsh
- 2nd Runner Up: Floppity Phillip Flaut, words by Gary Guthrie, illustrations by Sunyoung Kim, characters by Taylor Lewis Guthrie
- 3rd Runner Up: Who Is the Most Beautiful Bird in the Barnyard? by Sharon Mann
