Medtech Names Elaine M. Neely Chief Regulatory Excellence Officer
Respected Industry Expert Will Reinforce Culture of Regulatory Excellence Throughout Medtech's Growing Network of Campuses
ATLANTA, May 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Elaine M. Neely has been appointed Chief Regulatory Excellence Officer for Medtech, a leading post-secondary healthcare education training provider. Former Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at Kaplan, Inc., Neely will be responsible for all regulatory compliance — including federal, state and accrediting rules and standards — across Medtech's growing network of campuses nationwide.
"These are challenging times that require the utmost experienced regulatory executive to oversee all aspects of building the regulatory excellence culture and processes throughout our company," said Medtech President and CEO John L. Hopkins. "Following a thorough search to find the best leader to accept this charge, we chose Elaine to lead the way forward."
Neely's career in higher education spans nearly 40 years. As Kaplan's Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, she oversaw and interpreted federal regulations and assisted in implementing and ensuring system-wide compliance. For 20 years, Neely served in a variety of senior-level positions at Kaplan Higher Education, helping grow the company from six campuses to more than 70, in addition to an online university. In 2010, she received the Kaplan Higher Education Crystal Award of Excellence for exceptional service in support of the campuses.
Neely currently serves on various committees for the U.S. Department of Education (DOE), Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities (APSCU), Private Career Colleges & Schools (PCCS), and the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA). She has been an expert speaker at U.S. Department of Education and accreditor-sponsored events. In June, she will co-present the "Institutional Preparedness for Audits and Program Reviews" workshop at the annual APSCU Conference.
"Elaine is one of the industry's most respected and notable experts of regulatory affairs and we are honored to have someone of Elaine's caliber lead us into the next realm of regulatory excellence," Hopkins added.
