Highlight 1: Over 70 New Exhibitors, Eight Product Zones
In 2014, over 70 new exhibitors have joined MEDTEC China. They include Alpha Wire, AMETEK, Asia Solution, Cambridge Filter, FOBOHA, Jiangsu Changmei, MR:comp, Princeton, HOTTLI, Teknor Apex, Elcam, Puracon, FASTEST and Molex. Moreover, in order to create a convenient and optimized experience for visitors, eight product zones have been set up, including medical plastics, cleanroom, rapid manufacturing, medical packaging, medical electronics, medical automation, power supply & motor, and testing services.
Highlight 2: Authoritative experts join 2 professional forums
One day prior to the exhibition, the MEDTEC Investment Summit 2014 will be held at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Luwan to explore enterprises with intrinsic investment value. Over 25 professional speakers from research institutes, commercial enterprises and the financial sector will engage in discussions on IIMD and Material Innovation, IVD and Diagnostic Devices, Medical Informatization & Mobile Medical, and M&A Strategy of Medical Devices.
During the exhibition, meanwhile, the traditional Medical Device Innovation Technology Forum & Regulation Summit will include five modules, bringing current hot topics such as Primary health care, UDI, CFDA & FDA updates to the fore. Jianlong Yang, Deputy Director of China Association of Medical Equipment, will share a presentation entitled Project of grass roots medical equipment and opportunities for manufacturers; Hong Qian, Department Director, Medical Device Registration Department of Certification Review Center, SHFDA, will explain Special Approval Process for Innovative Medical Device by CFDA; William M. Sutton, Assistant Country Director (Devices) of FDA, will update MDUFA III Guidance Documents and FY15 User Fees. Further, in terms of technology for new materials, included are topics such as 3D-printing, design guidelines for domestic medical equipment, MIM, can coating materials for bone implants.
Highlight 3: Quality Focus provide special trainings
This year, the Quality Focus program has been organized for the first time to assist medical manufacturers improve risk management & quality control. On Day 1, Bose, Camstar, Instron, Minitab, and MR:Comp will share their experiences regarding quality control and assurance. On Day 2, the Quality Club will deliver medical device quality training.
Highlight 4: Onsite learning opportunities for R&D professionals
Based on its 2013 success, the New Technology Session will continue to hold a prime place in proceedings in 2014. Here, Lubrizol, Styron, Bayer MaterialScience, Porex, Taizhou Maider, HnG, Meko Laser Material Processing, Ximedica and Zeus will share the latest technology and market trends.
On the morning of September 26, the MEDTEC onsite conference will convene the MDiT sub-forum. Here, Teleflex Medical, Eastman Chemical and TORNOS will deliver insightful speeches on catheter design, TRITAN™ copolyesters and Medical Device Machining. Highlight 5: Medical Innovation Zone & Roadshow to promote industrialization
In 2014, MEDTEC China will cooperate with Chinese colleges and R&D institutions to deploy the Medical Innovation Zone, creating a platform spanning across manufacturing, designing and research. SJTU, Shanghai University, and Southeast University will exhibit their research projects.
Furthermore, on September 25, 10 projects from the MEDTEC Investment Summit will be selected to take part in a roadshow at the MEDTEC China onsite conference, covering operating tables, wearable devices and micro-instruments.
Highlight 6: 2014 Medical Design Excellence Awards Display
This year, MDEA will once again feature at MEDTEC China. Here, 33 innovative products will be presented via videos, including the AIRO Mobile Computed Tomography (CT) System, the AEROBIKA oscillating positive expiratory pressure therapy system, the Zip Surgical Skin Closure, the AtomoRapid HIV (1&2) integrated rapid antibody test, and the Vector Gait and Safety System.
Highlight 7: Singapore Pavilion
