MedStar Health, Georgetown University, and The Coalition Host First Business Local Impact Connection Day -- Construction Edition

WASHINGTON, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- MedStar Health, Georgetown University, and The Coalition, through its DC Community Anchor Partnership (DCAP) program, held the first Business Local Impact Connection Day — Construction Edition at Georgetown University's Capitol Campus. The event reflects the partnership's shared commitment to grow economic opportunity for local businesses across the District.

The debut Construction Edition event focused on strengthening business relationships and forging connections between MedStar Health, Georgetown University, The Coalition and existing and potential partners in the DC-metro construction market.

Throughout the day, participants learned about one another's services, discussed subcontracting needs, and explored possible future construction industry partnerships through networking activities and guided conversations.

Business Local Impact is part of MedStar Health's broader commitment to supporting the well-being and prosperity of the communities we serve across the Maryland and Washington, D.C. region.

Through the Business Local Impact Portal, MedStar Health increases the visibility of local businesses and provides a way for associates to learn more about their services and capabilities.

MedStar Health and Georgetown University are both DCAP anchor institutions. Through DCAP, a program of The Coalition, participating anchor institutions come together to strengthen connections with D.C.-based businesses and expand economic opportunity across the District.

Since its launch in 2017, DCAP institutions have generated more than $1.5 billion in cumulative spending with D.C.-based businesses, with participation growing from four anchor institutions to 17 today.
