MedSpring Urgent Care opens Barton Springs walk-in clinic in Austin, TX
New clinic has physician on-site from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. daily
AUSTIN, Texas, July 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MedSpring Urgent Care, an Austin-based health care provider, opened a new walk-in clinic at 517 S. Lamar Blvd., Austin, TX 78704 on Saturday, July 26. The Barton Springs urgent care clinic is located on the southeast corner of Barton Springs Rd. and S. Lamar Blvd. and has a doctor on-site from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. daily, including weekends and holidays.
With existing locations in the South Congress, University of Texas, Central Austin, Anderson Mill, Cedar Park and Round Rock areas, the Barton Springs clinic marks MedSpring Urgent Care's seventh Austin center and fifteenth overall.
"We're thrilled to continue our expansion throughout the Austin area," said MedSpring Urgent Care's Chief Medical Officer Jon L. Belsher, M.D. "We're proud to be an Austin-based company and to continue providing residents with quality, affordable urgent care services."
To celebrate the opening, MedSpring Urgent Care will host an official ribbon cutting ceremony with the Austin Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, July 31.
MedSpring Urgent Care offers treatment for routine illnesses and injuries from colds and coughs to cuts and broken bones. On-site lab tests, X-rays, vaccines and physicals are also available, along with occupational health services.
For non-life threatening conditions, MedSpring Urgent Care offers a cost-effective and time-saving alternative to the emergency room. A complete visit to MedSpring Urgent Care typically lasts less than an hour compared to the national average of four hours for an emergency room visit. Additionally, while co-pays vary by insurance provider, patients typically pay $35 to $50 per visit at MedSpring Urgent Care, compared to $100 to $200 or more at the ER. For those without insurance or with a high deductible, the savings can be even more dramatic with a typical MedSpring Urgent Care visit costing under $200 compared to well over $1,000 for a comparable ER visit. For conditions threatening a patient's life, limb or vision, an emergency room is the most appropriate setting for care.
MedSpring Urgent Care patients enjoy a distinctive and relaxing atmosphere with unique amenities including complimentary snacks and beverages, in-room televisions and activities for children. Following their visit, patients rate MedSpring Urgent Care 4.9 out of 5 stars on average.
