Everyday Health reports that its MedPage Today property has increased monthly unique visits by 228 percent (currently over 1.9 million per month) and monthly user registrations by 238 percent (to 16,000 per month) over the past year.
According to data from Manhattan Research, 52 percent of MedPage Today users visit at least one or more times a day (with the majority of these visits during office hours). This high user frequency sets MedPage Today apart from its competitive set.
Building on this success, Everyday Health unveiled its redesigned MedPage Today mobile application and website to provide healthcare professionals with even more valuable tools and content, including Rx drug data and robust medical condition content. The site's intuitive navigation allows HCPs to easily search for credible, peer-reviewed news and information.
For marketers, the new MedPage Today is a more effective channel to reach and engage these HCPs, and target within medical specialties. The site and mobile app now offer many marketing solutions to engage a targeted audience -- from custom disease centers to unique conference sponsorship opportunities.
"MedPage Today has doubled-down on services to provide healthcare professionals with an improved user experience and we are experiencing even stronger physician engagement," said Paul Slavin, senior vice president and general manager of Global News and Everyday Health Studios. "In the past year, MedPage Today has made substantial additions to its award winning coverage of breaking medical news. The site also features best-in-class drug lookup data, and in-depth coverage of over 80 conferences. Additionally, MedPage Today has established relationships with a number of leading professional organizations including the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association."
Mobile downloads are growing exponentially in popularity increasing to 390,000-plus; a 116% increase from January 2011 to December 2011. "MedPage Today is the only place for healthcare professionals to access comprehensive, peer-reviewed breaking medical news that significantly impacts their daily practice," Slavin added.
In addition, the quality of the content featured daily on the MedPage Today site has been recognized by the independent eHealthcare Leadership Awards and Apex Awards for Publication Excellence over the past year. MedPage Today received a Gold Award from eHealthcare Leadership as Best Overall Site in the Physician Category, and also won the Apex Award for Excellence in Health and Medical Writing.
