Medicalis Acquires RadWorkFlow from Inland Imaging and Providence Health Care
Medicalis Provides Technological Platform for Significant Improvements in Radiology Workflow and Productivity
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 4, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Medicalis, the leading developer of radiology workflow solutions, today announced that it acquired RadWorkFlow from RWF, LLC, a joint venture between Inland Imaging and Providence Health Care. The integrated solution combines the RadWorkFlow system with Medicalis' federated productivity and quality platform to enable distributed multi-PACS environments. The combination of these two proven solutions will enable radiologists who operate in complex, multi-vendor information system environments to maximize productivity by seamlessly connecting multiple PACS, Radiology Information System (RIS), and/or Electronic Health Records (EHR), across distributed enterprises.
Medicalis will showcase this new professional solution at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 96th annual meeting, Nov. 28 – Dec. 3, 2010, in Chicago (Booth 4050).
"As part of our ongoing commitment to improve healthcare delivery, Medicalis, in collaboration with our clinical partners, is leading the integration and connectivity of disparate healthcare information systems, helping to improve radiologists' productivity, the quality of their work environment, and the quality of patient care," said Oran Muduroglu, president and chief executive officer, Medicalis. "The challenges that healthcare providers face today places them in a position of increased competition and decreased reimbursement, therefore improvement in productivity, while being able to measure the quality of their work, is at the core of helping these providers meet demands in a time of rapid change."
The RadWorkFlow system has proven to increase service productivity by up to 14 percent compared to traditional federated solutions, while providing measurable data to ensure compliance with the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
Principals of Medicalis and Inland Imaging have a long history of collaborating to develop innovative workflow solutions to improve productivity and quality. This integrated solution ensures that all radiologists across an enterprise, regardless of location or underlying infrastructure, have a shared workflow paradigm that optimizes sub-specialty reads while automatically load-balancing between resources. In addition, it offers built-in quality modules for Peer Review Critical Finding and Critical Test Results Management that meet ACR guidelines and Joint Commission requirements.
"The rules of radiology are changing, therefore the ability to provide added value as a radiology group, as well as gather accurate data to measure productivity and quality is extremely critical," said Jon Copeland, chief executive officer, Inland Imaging Business Associates. "The acquisition of RadWorkFlow by Medicalis, and the integration of the solution with Medicalis' technology platform enables hospitals and radiology groups throughout the U.S. to track and improve their entire radiology workflow process, as well as experience productivity improvements and patient volume increase."
