Medicaid Health Plans of America Center for Best Practices Launches "Keeping You Healthy" Monthly Video Series
Clips Highlight Health Plan Patient Programs; Keystone Mercy Leads Off with "Lose to Win"
WASHINGTON, April 7, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Each month, the Medicaid Health Plans of America (MHPA) Center for Best Practices "Keeping You Healthy" Video Series features a Medicaid health plan best practice that has affected the lives of the people they serve. The first installment is the "Lose to Win Type II Diabetes and Obesity Education Program" by Keystone Mercy Health Plan.
According to the American Diabetes Association, diabetes affects the lives of nearly 26 million children and adults in the United States. To combat this disease in Philadelphia, Keystone Mercy Health Plan launched the "Lose to Win" diabetes and obesity education program. Healthcare expert, author and television host Michelle Katz, who has appeared on the Today Show, Good Morning America, and the CBS Evening News, speaks with Keystone Medical Director Dr. Glenn Hamilton and Tonya Moody, Associate Vice President of Health Promotions and Program Development, about the Program in this video.
