Media attorney CHARLES HARDER named to Variety's 2019 Legal Impact Report

LOS ANGELES, April 10, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Variety has named prominent media attorney CHARLES HARDER of Harder LLP (www.HarderLLP.com) to its 2019 Legal Impact Report, an annual list of the leading attorneys in the media and entertainment industries.

In the past year, Mr. Harder prevailed over Stormy Daniels and her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, in a federal defamation lawsuit she brought against Harder LLP client, President Trump, for which Mr. Harder won a dismissal and an award of attorneys' fees and sanctions totaling $293,000.  Separately, Mr. Harder obtained substantial damages and a detailed retraction and apology for his client, First Lady Melania Trump, regarding a defamatory story posted by Telegraph Media. Mr. Harder also successfully represented four different prominent producers in Hollywood, in four unrelated legal actions.

Mr. Harder is perhaps best known for his role as lead counsel for Hulk Hogan (real name Terry Bollea) in his 2016 invasion of privacy trial against Gawker Media that resulted in a $140 million jury verdict, which yielded an eight-figure settlement and put Gawker out of business. Mr. Harder also is known for representing a long list of A-list actors in more than 30 major lawsuits over the past 10 years concerning right of publicity, trademark and privacy rights.
