WASHINGTON, Nov. 15, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Family Research Council will hold a lecture this Tuesday, November 16 at Noon ET featuring best-selling author William Hopper. Hopper will discuss his new book, "The Puritan Gift: Reclaiming the American Dream amidst Global Financial Chaos." He co-authored the book with his brother Ken, and will discuss how the Puritan work ethic and principles helped make American businesses great, and are essential elements of the family. "The Puritan Gift" was first published in hardcover in 2007, when it became a bestseller. It was republished in paperback in 2009. The Financial Times labeled it one of the "top ten business books" of the past decade.

Both of the Hoppers are visiting fellows at the Manchester Business School and also writers-in-residence at the Drucker Institute, Claremont Graduate University in California. Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1929, William Hopper graduated from the University of Glasgow with an MA with First Class Honours in Modern Languages in 1953, then went on to serve in the Royal Air Force. For over half a century he has been director of or adviser to the London merchant bank, Morgan Grenfell. He was a Conservative member of the first elected European Parliament from 1979 to 1984.
