Media Advisory | Tax Reform -- Leading Tax Proposals to Encourage Capital Investment in the U.S. Economy
National Journal LIVE Policy Summit
WASHINGTON, Nov. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Highlighting the need to adopt a more streamlined tax code that broadens the base, boosts competitiveness, and encourages investment, policymakers on both sides of the aisle are beginning to coalesce around the idea of comprehensive tax reform.
Are the political stars aligned as they were in 1986?
National Journal will convene a policy summit to explore the policy choices lawmakers will face. Questions on the agenda will include: Should corporate tax rates be lowered in exchange for the elimination of special tax benefits like the research-and-development credit? Should tax reform be revenue neutral or used to raise additional revenue? And, should tax reform change the distribution of the tax burden?
The Policy Summit will be held on Thursday, November 3 at Newseum, Seventh Floor Knight Conference Center from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., and will be hosted by National Journal and underwritten by UPS.
