Medford REALTOR® Receives Good Neighbor Award, $2,500 Grant for Boston Children's Hospital

BOSTON, July 6, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In front of a crowd of her colleagues, Kelly Catallo was honored at the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS® (GBAR) Annual Awards Breakfast on June 14 at the Wellesley Country Club as the recipient of the 2016 GBAR Good Neighbor Award. Catallo also received a $2,500 grant for the Boston Children's Hospital in recognition of her charitable work with the hospital. Catallo is a broker associate of Cosmopolitan Real Estate Inc. at Keller Williams Realty in Cambridge.

The Good Neighbor Award is modeled closely after that given by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and recognizes real estate professionals for their community activism.  Recipients of the award have made an extraordinary commitment to improving the quality of life in their communities through volunteer work.

In 2013, Catallo created Foundation of Friends, an organization of volunteers who create community fundraising events to benefit local nonprofit institutions. The following year, she established the "Running of the Leprechauns 5K" to benefit the Boston's Children's Hospital (BCH), an event which has grown in participation from 250 people its first year to more than 1,000 at this year's event. Since its inception the event has raised more $50,000, including over $20,000 this year, with all proceeds going to BCH. In addition to her work with BCH, Catallo is an actively involved with the Kiwanis Club of Medford, has volunteered with REALTOR® Against Poverty and has helped create various fundraisers for schools in her hometown of Medford.
