EMERYVILLE, Calif., June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- MedeAnalytics, a leading provider of healthcare performance management solutions, unveiled today its Meaningful Use Risk Assessment which evaluates a hospital's compliance to meet the HITECH Act's requirements to encourage hospitals to implement and meaningfully use electronic health records. The new service offering includes an evaluation of a hospital's current compliance and ability to meet quality reporting requirements pertaining to meaningful use. The customized assessment provides quantification of financial risk and opportunities, based on data provided by the hospital, going beyond the current meaningful use Stage 1 requirements by predicting Stage 2 and 3 requirements (based on extensive research of expert opinions) and assessing the hospital's readiness to meet those requirements.
"We feel this goes beyond the simplistic 'check the box' tests in the market currently," said Doug Thompson, MedeAnalytics' senior vice president, Performance Management Consulting. "Doing a gap analysis of where a hospital stands relative to Stage 1 requirements is fairly straightforward. Of greater value is an educated assessment—with financial risk estimates—relative to the more stringent Stage 2 and 3 requirements."
