MedAxiom Launches Webcast Series for Cardiology Practices, Covering Key Topics Like Integration, Meaningful Use and More
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- MedAxiom, the leading national source of quantifiable information about the state of cardiology practices, today announced its sponsorship of a month-long series of webcasts, developed to support its growing network of cardiology practices, hospital service lines, health systems and more. With the goal of sharing information, resources and experiences, the series brings together experts in their field to deliver information on topics important to healthcare management and physician leaders across the country.
Beginning June 28th, speakers will address key issues such as practice integration, meaningful use, and quality-based healthcare. These issues are at the forefront of today's national focus on healthcare reform; the webinars will discuss the immediate and long-term effects these issues are likely to have on both established and emerging cardiology practices.
"It's no longer enough for cardiologists and administrators to focus solely on medical issues as such," said Patrick White, MedAxiom's president. "With the spotlight on cost containment and the more effective delivery of services, professionals need to understand that what is being discussed on Capitol Hill today may well affect their practice tomorrow." White said the MedAxiom webinars will help doctors and others understand how to better run their practices in a way that complies with and meets emerging requirements.
The webinars include:
- June 28th: "Practice Trends: Procedure Volumes and Ratios, Financials, and Hospital Integration;" MedAxiom's Patrick White will be the speaker.
- June 30th: "Meaningful Use: Are you ready for the incentives or the penalties?;" speakers include Mike Mytych, President, Health Information Consulting, Tim Attebery, Chief Executive Officer and Jack Sunderman, IT director, Cardiovascular Associates – Kingsport.
- July 7th: "Quality as a Core Competency: Creating organizational engagement to achieve desired outcomes," hosted by Suzette Jaskie, the newly named chief executive officer of MedAxiom Consulting.
- July 19th: "MAC/RAC Issues: Where are they, what are they after, and are you at risk?" Margie Amato, director of MedAxiom's Business Office and Coding Network (BOCN) will speak.
The MedAxiom webinars will begin at 1 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, with the exception of the June 30th webinar, which begins at 2 p.m. They are available at no charge to MedAxiom members; non-members may register for $49 per site. In addition, non-members who purchase access to three of the webinars will be able to attend the fourth at no additional cost.
