Medallia Expands Leadership Team to Support Unprecedented Growth
Medallia Appoints New Executives to Head Finance, Legal, and HR
MENLO PARK, Calif., Nov. 29, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Medallia, the global leader in software-as-a-service Customer Experience Management (CEM) solutions, today announced the addition of three new executives to the management team. The new Chief Financial Officer, Vice President and General Counsel and Vice President of Human Resources bring a wealth of experience from a variety of high-growth companies, and are joining Medallia just when the company is experiencing the highest growth rate in its history. The expanded executive team will reinforce Medallia's continuing growth and solidify the company's position as a thought and market leader in CEM.
The new Medallia executives are:
Andy Chmyz, Chief Financial Officer (CFO): Andy, who replaces an interim CFO, will not only build a financial and accounting infrastructure and practices to support the company's accelerated growth, but will also help chart top-level strategy. Before joining Medallia, Andy served as Chief Operating Officer at Concentric Medical, where, in addition to CFO duties, he launched Concentric's international sales efforts. Earlier, he was the Chief Financial Officer at both Marimba (acquired by BMC) and InnerStep. Andy began his career as an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
Alan Grebene, Vice President and General Counsel: Alan will assume responsibility for all legal and regulatory matters at Medallia. Since beginning his career as an attorney with Cooley LLP, Alan has advised numerous companies, including Adobe, Yahoo and other venture-backed startups, on a wide array of legal and business matters. He has held several business management roles with fast-growing technology companies, including serving as a regional General Manager and Vice President of Corporate Development & Strategy at Blue Martini Software, where he helped the company through a successful IPO.
Aanand Varanasi, Vice President of Human Resources: Aanand will be responsible for all human resources activities, with focus on talent recruitment, development and retention as well as programs to foster Medallia's positive and engaging culture. Prior to joining Medallia, Aanand was Senior Director of Talent Management at Palm. Earlier, Aanand spent seven years at VMware, where he built the recruitment infrastructure and process, helping the company to grow from 200 people in 2002 to more than 10,000 globally. Aanand started his career in recruiting and executive search, working for a number of highly successful companies, including WebLogic, Juniper, McKesson and Chiron.
"We are delighted to welcome such accomplished executives to our team," said Amy Pressman, President and co-founder of Medallia. "This expansion of the executive team will help us improve our operational focus and continue scaling the company to meet the tremendous demand for our products and services. It will let us serve the growing legions of organizations that want to put CEM into practice and quash corporate mediocrity".
