Medal of Honor Foundation Earns Highest Rating Again
ARLINGTON, Va., June 6, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Charity Navigator, America's leading charity evaluator, has awarded its highest 4-star rating to the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation for the second consecutive year. According to Michael Thatcher, Charity Navigator president and chief executive officer (CEO), "Only 28 percent of the charities we evaluate have received at least two consecutive 4-star ratings, indicating that Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation outperforms most other charities in America."
"In representing the 72 national heroes who wear the Medal of Honor, we focus every day on executing the mission in a way that will make them proud and perpetuate the legacy of the Medal they wear," said Ron Rand, Foundation president and CEO. "Earning this rating again provides confidence to our partners and supporters that they can trust us to use their investments wisely and to educate and inspire people to live by the values embodied in the Medal of Honor."
The Foundation's second consecutive 4/4-star rating is supported by a near-perfect overall score of 99.95, up from 98.77 a year ago. In accountability and transparency, the Foundation's score remained a perfect 100, while in financial management, its score rose to 99.94 from 98.27 last year.
"Our Foundation team does tremendous work and I'm thrilled they've been recognized with another 4-star rating," said Tom Kelley, Medal of Honor Recipient and president of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.
