Meadowood Unveils Plans for Renovation of its Pool & Fitness Areas
Project Set to Break Ground This Fall
ST. HELENA, Calif., Aug. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of Meadowood's ongoing commitment to a beautiful environment and memorable experiences, pending receipt of the necessary county approvals, the property will launch a full renovation of its pools and fitness environs. This project is scheduled to begin in the early fall of 2017 and re-open with a Memorial Day celebration in May 2018.
Of the renovation, General Manager Patrick Nayrolles says, "The renovation of our Pools, surrounding dining areas and Fitness Center are part of a continuing investment by the Meadowood owners to ensure the estate remains the premiere Napa Valley destination for discerning travelers while preserving the private, beautiful and tranquil property for generations to come."
A complete remodel of the existing Fitness Center will elevate both the workout and relaxation areas. The spaces dedicated to daily fitness classes, weight training and cardio workouts, retail store and locker rooms will be improved to create a more open and light-filled environment. The dressing and locker rooms as well as the area dedicated to fitness-related retail will be reflective of the parallel areas created within the new Meadowood Spa, which opened in November 2015. The seating areas and outdoor spaces will be ideally suited to relaxing after a workout.
A new Upper Pool will replace the existing Lap Pool located just adjacent to the Fitness Center. The new Upper Pool will be designated as a quiet adult pool, surrounded by tranquil, natural landscaping intended to foster a relaxing atmosphere. New adults-only whirlpool and cabanas will complete this area.
The Lap Pool is being relocated with year-round swimmers and active pool activity in mind.
The existing Children's Pool will be resurfaced and the existing Family Snack Bar and dressing area will be replaced by a new, expanded and more functional building that will enhance both the children's and parents' pool experiences.
A new Pool Café, located between the Upper Pool and the Lap Pool, will take its inspiration from the architectural style of the Meadowood Spa, which celebrates the indoor-outdoor style of life enjoyed in Napa Valley. Sliding glass doors will surround the building to create a seamless indoor-outdoor space. On the north side of the building, a shade trellis with heaters and fans will create a year-round setting for guests to gather and relax in addition being able to enjoy a meal in the dining room and bar inside. The dining area has been designed to be convivial and fun in keeping with its poolside location yet relaxing and sophisticated with comfortable seating and a warm environment.
