MDT Releases High-Precision TMR Geartooth Encoders with Sine/Cosine Outputs
MDT Expands TMR Sensor Product Lines with Fully Integrated Encoder Modules for High-Performance Industrial Applications
SAN JOSE, Calif. and ZHANGJIAGANG, China, June 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- MultiDimension Technology (MDT) released the Tunneling Magnetoresistance (TMR) geartooth encoder TMR-GE-A series with analog sine/cosine outputs. Designed for gears in 0.3/0.4/0.5 module with high-precision sine/cosine outputs per gear pitch, the TMR-GE-A-03/04/05 geartooth encoders are ideally suited for rotary position and speed sensing in high-performance industrial applications, including precision machinery, energy and power generation systems, equipment for railway and elevators.
"MDT's TMR-GE-A series is the first analog sine/cosine geartooth encoders based on TMR technology. Along with the TMR-GE-T series digital encoders that were successfully launched last year, they provide comprehensive solutions to our customers with high-quality analog and digital output signals to satisfy various requirements in gear speed measurement, and they exhibit unique advantages of our TMR technology, including high sensitivity, very low harmonic distortion, outstanding air-gap tolerance, and high-speed operation," said Dr. Song Xue, president and CEO of MultiDimension Technology. "We are actively expanding MDT's product family from TMR sensor ICs to fully integrated and ready-to-use sensor modules such as the TMR-GE-A and TMR-GE-T geartooth encoders."
Key features of the TMR-GE-A encoder series
- Orthogonal since/cosine differential outputs in each gear period with very low harmonic distortion
- Zero position signal output
- High-speed operation up to 1MHz
- Built-in capability for auto-calibration
- Large tolerance to air-gap and installation position
- Ultra-compact form factor in a space-saving design
- IP68 protection grade for harsh operation conditions
MDT is a leading supplier of TMR sensors with advanced manufacturing facilities and a strong IP portfolio. MDT's TMR sensors feature a number of outstanding performance benefits, including ultra-low power, ultra-high sensitivity, ultra-low noise, large dynamic range, and excellent thermal stability, which compliment limitations of present magnetic sensor technologies including Hall Effect, AMR (Anisotropic Magnetoresistance), and GMR (Giant Magnetoresistance). They are ideal choices for a variety of industrial, automotive, consumer and medical sensor applications.
MDT will showcase the TMR switch sensors, TMR angle sensors, TMR linear sensors and TMR geartooth sensors in standard packaged devices, and TMR image sensors and TMR geartooth encoders in complete sensor modules at SensorsExpo in San Jose, CA during June 27-28, 2018.
