Duane Chudy, CEO of TCG, a long time provider of automation technology for the health care industry, stated, "We have been gearing up to meet the demands of short cycle delivery for some time. With the shift from 30 day punch card supply to a 7 day short cycle delivery time, we needed a cabinet manufacturer to compliment our packaging technology. We felt that MDG and TCG would be a very good fit."
Mark Saffran, CEO of MDG Medical, is thrilled with the recent developments for MDG. "I have known the management team at TCG for a long time. They are a top notch organization and we couldn't be happier than to have TCG represent us in the long term care market. The health care industry has been undergoing rapid change and we wanted a partner in the long term care market who understands those changes."
TCG provides automation technology that packages bulk medication into patient specific pouches complete with a bar code that promotes patient safety and improves nursing and pharmacy efficiencies. The packager can be used remotely by a pharmacy service provider or in a care facility. The MDG system will interface with the TCG packager to communicate data between the two products for items that are not packaged by the TCG equipment. The marriage of the two technologies provides a cost effective, safe and seamless process for the long term care pharmacy provider and nursing staff.
