McLaren Health Care Expands Government Affairs Team to Drive Policy Initiatives
John McNamara joins as Manager of State Government Relations
GRAND BLANC, Mich., Oct. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- McLaren Health Care today announced the appointment of John McNamara as manager of state government relations. McNamara will play a key role in providing strategic support in relation to public policy and government affairs initiatives.
In his new role, McNamara will develop policy strategy and determine goals and objectives to inform and influence public policy at the state level. He will represent McLaren Health Care in proactive interactions with government officials, political leaders and business leaders to advance the organization's business and industry interests. Additionally, McNamara will establish and lead strategic efforts to advocate for McLaren Health Care and McLaren Health Plan with state and local policymakers while building and maintaining effective and conducive working relationships to advance policy interests and efforts.

McNamara has more than a decade of public policy experience. Most recently, he served as legislative director for State Representative Michael Webber and State Senator Margaret O'Brien in Lansing, Michigan, where he managed legislative portfolios, met with stakeholders, researched and drafted potential legislation and testified before committees on pending legislation. Prior to that, McNamara spent three years in the Michigan Senate Majority Communications Department. McNamara holds an undergraduate degree in political science from Michigan State University.
