McLaren Engineering Group Expands to Downtown Orlando
Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce Hosts Ribbon Cutting to Celebrate Firm's New Office
ORLANDO, Fla., March 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- McLaren Engineering Group is expanding to a new office in downtown Orlando to better serve its Florida clients. The full-service engineering firm, now located at 201 North Magnolia Avenue, has doubled the size of its previous Orlando location. The Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting ceremony today with business and civic leaders to celebrate the new office.
"Our entertainment, structural and marine teams have been working in the Florida market for 20 years, and our new expanded office downtown places us in a central location, giving clients easier access to us," said Malcolm G. McLaren, president and CEO, McLaren Engineering Group, headquartered in West Nyack, NY. "We're excited to be a part of downtown Orlando's growing business community."
Recently, McLaren worked with Cirque du Soleil La Nouba's Bamboo Aerial Act to safely bring the performance outdoors to downtown Orlando. McLaren reviewed the act's equipment, rigging and supporting structure to ensure the protection of the high-flying performers and the crowds.
In northeast Orlando, McLaren performed structural engineering, construction administration, and design services for the 584,300-square-foot, state-of-the-art Baldwin Harbor luxury residential complex, which opened in late 2016.
Other regional projects include structural and mechanical design for scenery and rides in theme parks around the Orlando area.
"We are thrilled that McLaren Engineering Group has selected downtown Orlando for its newest office," said Jim Thomas, Executive Director of the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce. "McLaren's engineering expertise across a range of markets adds a skill that will diversify our business community and aid in our continued growth."
McLaren's Orlando office is led by Andrew Habel, P.E., a regional director for McLaren Engineering Group. Habel is a structural engineer with 11 years of experience in structural design and inspection services.
"We are proud to expand our firm's presence in the Orlando market so that we can continue to create innovative, cost-effective solutions for our clients' engineering needs," said Habel.
