McLane Family Gives Gift to ONE MIND for Research
TEMPLE, Texas, April 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ONE MIND for Research was presented a gift of $50,000 towards the organization, whose goal is to make advancements in brain injury and related diseases through collaboration and information sharing. The check was presented by Drayton McLane Jr., Chairman and CEO of MAT.
The McLane family donation will benefit U.S. soldiers suffering from Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and other various brain diseases.
General Peter Chiarelli, USA (Ret.) is the CEO of ONE MIND for Research. At the end of his 40-year military career, he retired as a distinguished four-star General. His service included designing and implementing American defense policy for the US Army and the Department of Defense during peace and war combat operations.
"PTS is an injury, not a disorder," said Chiarelli. "There is much research that needs to be done and ONE MIND is working hard to ensure that this research is collected into a data base for all the best intellects in neuroscience to explore and find answers."
The McLane family supports the mission of ONE MIND for Research, and hopes to shed light upon the reality of invisible war wounds that soldiers experience with PTS and TBI from combat operations.
"We are blessed to live in this great country and thankful to the soldiers and their families who sacrifice to defend our freedom," Mr. McLane said. "The organization is making great strides in assisting soldiers who have PTS and TBI from service injuries."
