McKean Defense Group, LLC Team Expands

PHILADELPHIA, July 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- McKean Defense Group, LLC today announced a strategic hire to strengthen the company's Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) business.  Mr. Guy Holcombe will serve as McKean's Strategy Advisor for Fleet Programs.

Mr. Holcombe has had a distinguished career directing operations and business development for organizations focused on maritime support.  He most recently served as a Director in Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems Division, managing $280M of business with 1,000 employees.  This position was the culmination of a 30-year career that began in 1980 when he joined SYSCON Corporation as the Deputy Program Manager for AEGIS Programs.

Mr. Holcombe's responsibilities include developing strategies to increase McKean's presence in NAVSEA Fleet engineering and technology initiatives. He will also be responsible for leading efforts to integrate activities across McKean's diverse Navy customer base. "Guy is a proven business leader who enhances our team with a deep understanding of acquisition and logistics requirements for NAVSEA, spanning all Program Executive Offices and a variety of platforms," said Mr. Larry D. McKean's NAVSEA business has become a larger part of the company's revenue stream, now contributing approximately 30% of overall revenue. McKean also anticipates significant growth from this market over the next fiscal year. To support this growth, Mr. Holcombe will be mentoring McKean's management team, as well as assisting in maintaining the strong industry partnerships that McKean values.

Mr. Holcombe has supported Navy programs since 1978.  He has received multiple Navy AEGIS Excellence Awards and is Six Sigma certified.  Mr. Holcombe has a B.S. from Dickinson College and a M.B.A. from George Mason University.
