BALTIMORE, June 27, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- McGuireWoods LLP announced today that Baltimore partner Jennifer Stearman has been appointed chair of the board of visitors for the University of Maryland Children's Hospital (UMCH). She has been involved with the UMCH board for seven years and served as vice chair of the board for the past two years.

Stearman will lead the UMCH board in continuing its support of capital campaigns and awareness initiatives benefiting UMCH, including the expansion of the hospital's neonatal intensive care program. The board is also involved in helping to organize the sixth annual Brian's Baseball Bash fundraiser, of which McGuireWoods is a sponsor. The event will be held at Dave & Buster's, Arundel Mills, on July 24, and will be hosted by Baltimore Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts.
