"This integration simplifies access to educational content and makes it easier for instructors to take advantage of McGraw-Hill's world-class curriculum," said Brian Whitmer, Co-founder and Vice President of Product Management at Instructure Canvas.
McGraw-Hill Campus gives faculty and students universal access to their online resources within the Canvas platform. Once faculty and students sign in to their Canvas accounts, they are automatically signed in to McGraw-Hill Campus, providing access to e-books, test banks, PowerPoint slides and animations. The service comes at no additional cost to the institution.
"Instructors and students are demanding greater access to more and better content as well as a seamlessly integrated experience," said Brian Kibby, President of McGraw-Hill Higher Education. "By partnering with Instructure, we're bringing people the best of both worlds."
McGraw-Hill has partnered with traditional learning management systems and now seeks to leverage a modern platform for education. Through Canvas, McGraw-Hill is able to leverage an open-source, cloud based LMS built for 21st century learning. Canvas is an intuitive platform that colleges, universities and school districts are using to connect with students through social and mobile technology.
Instructure offers three different partnership programs. The Community program includes API documentation, forum support and a low barrier to participate. The Certified program offers certified system integration and joint marketing initiatives, while the Premier program has a more customized partnership.
Instructure has grown rapidly, gaining 180 clients in its first 18 months. Clients include Auburn University, Brown University and the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges.
