McGraw-Hill Announces All Core Math, Reading and Language Arts Programs Fully Align with Common Core State Standards
First Publisher to Align All Major Programs to CCSS
New York, March 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- McGraw-Hill's School Education Group today announced that every one of its core math, reading and language arts programs fully align with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). In total, McGraw-Hill has developed more than a dozen CCSS-aligned programs across all of its core product lines including some of the nation's most popular and effective programs such as Everyday Mathematics, which has been aligned since 2010, Treasures, Imagine It!, LEAD21, Literature and Math Connects.
"As school districts and states adopt the Common Core State Standards, we want them to know that McGraw-Hill is a leading resource and expert on this issue," said Dan Caton, executive vice president and head of the Learning Solution Centers at McGraw-Hill's School Education Group. "We've aligned all of our core programs, which represent the highest-quality curricula, to the new standards to bring teachers and students a seamless solution during this time of change. As a company, we are committed to partnering with schools around the country to offer our expertise and help implement the new standards smoothly and successfully."
In addition to delivering CCSS-aligned programs, significant work has been done to provide effective tools and materials to support teachers as they transition into the new standards-based curriculum. All programs offer complete correlation to each standard, outlined through supplementary teacher and student materials, online lesson plans and practice sets and additional content.
For example, McGraw-Hill's reading and language arts programs include a CCSS e-handbook that aids teachers using any program as they transition to the standards. Additional programs under development across all subject areas, such as MyMath, an upcoming K-5 core math program, will be fully aligned to the Common Core State Standards at the lesson level.
