McGlinchey Stafford's Corporate & Financial Services Teams Add Accomplished Attorney Chris Couch in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Aug. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- McGlinchey Stafford PLLC is pleased to announce Christopher P. (Chris) Couch has joined the firm's Birmingham office as Of Counsel. He will practice within the firm's Corporate and Banking practice groups.

Couch's practice includes advising clients on all aspects of entity formation, securities, finance and corporate governance, and transactional matters. Couch also advises banks and other financial institutions on regulatory and operational matters; civil and regulatory actions involving commercial and consumer claims; and compliance with banking and lending laws, rules, and regulations. His broad client base includes startups, privately held companies, manufacturers, institutional investors, consumer products companies, and regional and community banks. He is licensed to practice in both Alabama and Florida.

Couch's experience as in-house counsel includes having previously served as General Counsel of an alternative energy company that developed private equity-backed industrial projects. In this role, Couch represented the company in obtaining private equity commitments in excess of $250 million, and also directed the company's legal matters and strategy relating to facility development, financing, and construction; product commercialization; and corporate and commercial transactions. Prior to attending law school, he worked within a Birmingham-based bank that later merged to become one of the largest regional banks in the Southeast United States.

A 2002 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law, Couch served as the Alabama Editor of the Alabama Law Review during law school. He earned his M.B.A. from the Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management in 2015, and also studied Private Capital Markets at Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business Management. Couch received his B.A. in English from Birmingham-Southern College in 1995.

In the fall of 2015, McGlinchey Stafford expanded its national reach to Alabama with the addition of its Birmingham office.
