McGinty to Step Down as CIG Vice Chairman
Pioneering exec to remain active in information industry
BETHESDA, Md., Jan. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- James P. McGinty will step down as Vice Chairman of Cambridge Information Group (CIG) on June 30, 2014. Mr. McGinty has been with CIG for more than 20 years, playing a central role in the company's development and investment strategy.

Mr. McGinty was named Vice Chairman and appointed to CIG's Board of Directors in 2005, after serving for five years as the company's president. Among his contributions to CIG are his participation in the acquisition, integration, and the general management of acclaimed information brands and businesses Bowker, RefWorks and ProQuest, where he played an especially active role, serving for six years on its Board of Directors. Prior to CIG, Jim was president of Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (CSA), where he led the company to a threefold increase in revenue and grew its customer base to more than 1,800 institutions worldwide. Prior to joining CSA, Jim spent 20 years with the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation.
Mr. McGinty's leadership in the information industry has been recognized by some of its most elite trade groups. Among his honors are the Miles Conrad Memorial Award presented by the National Federation of Advanced Information Services (NFAIS) and the Peter E. Jackson Innovation Award presented by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA).
Mr. McGinty will continue his active role in the information industry, helping it adapt and respond to new opportunities.
