SEATTLE, March 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MCG, formerly Milliman Care Guidelines and now part of the Hearst Health network, has released the 18th edition care guidelines and enhancements to its Cite® and Indicia® lines of software.
In the 18th edition, MCG builds upon the most comprehensive and trusted set of evidence-based care guidelines in the industry to ensure that providers and payors have access to the most current source of information to support the delivery of effective care.
"The practice and documentation of evidence-based care delivery is more important than ever," said Jon Shreve, President of MCG. "Our new release, in terms of both content and enhanced functionality, further empowers providers and payors to deliver the right care, at the right time, and in the right setting."
New content in the 18th edition includes expanded readmission risk assessment information, new patient-facing chronic care plans, national emergency room and observation care utilization statistics, and enhanced genetic medicine guidelines. MCG care guidelines include Inpatient & Surgical Care, General Recovery Care, Ambulatory Care, Recovery Facility Care, Home Care, Chronic Care, Behavioral Health Care, and Patient Information.
The prior version of Cite AutoAuth, MCG's automated authorization solution, covered the ambulatory and acute medical/surgical care settings. Responding to customer demand, MCG has enhanced Cite AutoAuth 6.0 to add behavioral health, recovery facility, and home care settings and the ability to address referral management. This new version enables providers to submit multiple approval requests thereby streamlining their workflow. MCG has also improved bulk data handling in CareWebQI® 6.0 – the utilization management platform that supports Cite AutoAuth Module.
Enhancements in Indicia for Case Management 3.0, MCG's solution for hospital case managers, include new interactive readmission risk and extended stay assessment functionality, enhanced variance documentation capabilities, inclusion of the CMS Inpatient Only List in search, DSM-5 codes from the American Psychiatric Association, and more.
