LEAWOOD, Kan., July 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- m.Care, a leading telehealth, remote patient monitoring technology company, based in Leawood, Kansas, announced today the deeper commitment from its longtime client Mercy Virtual, the world's first virtual care center. The commitment will extend the current relationship, focusing on next generation healthcare technologies, including enhancements and broader scope to new and existing, Mercy Virtual vEngagement patient monitoring programs.
"We are very pleased to continue to build upon our strong relationship with Mercy Virtual. Together, we are committed to providing the very best technology, enabling more efficient and effective remote patient care that delivers better outcomes at a reduced cost," said Steve Hendrix, President of LifeScience Technologies.
"What makes this relationship special is that we work together to drive innovation and results. Together, we have created a highly adopted and easy-to-use system that is changing outcomes. Where patients previously were readmitted frequently and experienced high incident rates, we are now seeing costs reduced by about one-third and readmissions reduced by more than 50%. We believe with this new investment, we can achieve even more dramatic results."
The commitment from Mercy Virtual amounts to a full two-year investment in telehealth technology development. The goal is to remain and sustain Mercy Virtual's reputation as the leading telemedicine and virtual care provider in the world.
Mark Saxon, Mercy Virtual's Vice President of Clinical Operations, has worked with m.Care since the program inception. "m.Care's technology gives us the flexibility to cover any patient population at anytime, anywhere. It can be adapted to the individual, or to the whole program. m.Care is very patient-centric, and they care. Their technology allows the flexibility for future growth, which we need. For those reasons, they align better with us than other organizations," Saxon said.
Working closely with medical and behavioral health care industry leaders, m.Care, a subsidiary of LifeScience Technologies, was created in 2012. The platform has been refined consistently, based on care providers' input and patient user experiences. Today, the m.Care platform powers not only the Mercy Virtual Care Center, but other leading healthcare technology providers in the healthcare, hospice, palliative, employee wellness and behavioral health space.
