MBX's Jill Bellak Named Finalist for Stevie® Awards for Women in Business
Recognized in Two Categories for Role in Building Custom Server Appliance Business
LIBERTYVILLE, Ill., Oct. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Jill Bellak, President and Chief Operating Officer of custom server appliance manufacturer MBX Systems, has been named a finalist in two categories of the 10th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business: Female Executive of the Year/Business Products (11-2,500 employees) and Woman of the Year/Industry. Bellak has been a linchpin in several critical MBX business transitions that have fueled a sevenfold jump in the company's annual revenues over the last decade.
More than 1,200 entries were submitted for consideration in over 90 categories. Finalists were chosen by more than 140 business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging. More than 90 members of the five final judging committees will determine the Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award placements from among the finalists during final judging. Bellak's ranking in each category will be announced at the awards dinner in New York on November 8.
"Jill has been instrumental in many of the decisions that have shaped MBX's business," said MBX CEO Tom Crowley. "Her leadership and strategic recommendations have helped build the company into one of the leading system builders for software vendors, so this recognition is well-deserved."
In 2012, for example, Bellak initiated a move to a larger plant that quadrupled the company's physical space, octupled the size of the plant floor, and allowed MBX to implement changes in manufacturing processes that have increased the number of servers that the company can build from 5,000 to 20,000 per shift. The new facility has helped MBX drive a 30% increase in revenues in 12 months.
Bellak joined MBX as VP of Sales and Marketing in 1999, was promoted to COO in 2006, and became president in 2012.
