MBX Systems Named Finalist for Stevie Customer Service Award
OEM Server Appliance Manufacturer Recognized for Proactive Hardware Protection
WAUCONDA, Ill., Feb. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MBX Systems, a leading manufacturer of custom-built OEM server appliances for software vendors and service providers, has been named a finalist for the sixth annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service in the "Customer Service Department of the Year—Computer Hardware" category. The company was one of only three finalists in the category, based on the advanced technology services it provides to ensure the smooth operation of MBX-manufactured hardware systems that are deployed in tens of thousands of corporate data centers around the world.
Those services include:
- Component lifecycle management to monitor parts reliability and end-of-life schedules before they affect application performance at end user sites;
- Optional 24/7/365 remote monitoring of systems in the field to provide predictive failure information on CPUs, power, system temperature or other components;
- An unusual no-charge policy on maintaining inventory and cross-shipping replacement units for situations where replacement components cannot be swapped in the field.
- A password-protected online portal that alerts customers to component issues while also providing real-time data on order history, current order status, appliance specifications, inventory, shipments, pricing and RMAs.
These support services play a key role in driving a 98% customer retention rate and a 96% customer satisfaction rating for MBX. The company's made-to-order server appliances enable software applications and services to be pre-loaded on optimized hardware systems for turnkey deployment.
Stevie Awards finalists were selected from more than 1,000 entries from around the world in a variety of categories, including 27 focusing on customer service such as Contact Center of the Year, Innovation in Customer Service, and Customer Service Department of the Year. Seven specialized judging committees comprised of more than 100 professionals will determine the Gold, Silver and Bronze award designees. Winners will be announced February 27.
"Our job doesn't end when we ship a finished hardware system. If any hardware component fails, despite the fact that we use Tier 1 hardware suppliers and test every system multiple times before deployment, business-critical functions like data archiving, network security, content management or cloud storage can be crippled. That would reflect poorly on the customers for whom we build appliances," said Tom Crowley, MBX founder and CEO. "We developed our customer service strategies to protect our customers' reputation as well as to enable their customers to have uninterrupted service from their hardware appliances."
Crowley himself was named Executive of the Year/Computer Hardware in the Stevie Awards' 2011 American Business Awards. He earned the honor for spearheading MBX's entry into the server appliance market and for driving 16 years of consecutive growth, even in a recessionary economy.
