MBX Now Certified to Manufacture OEM Hardware Appliances for China
Can Apply CCC Safety Mark to Platforms Built for Software Vendors & Service Providers
WAUCONDA, Ill., Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Server appliance manufacturer MBX Systems today announced that its factory in suburban Chicago has earned China Compulsory Certificate (CCC) certification, enabling software vendors and service providers to utilize MBX's purpose-built hardware appliance manufacturing services to deliver turnkey hardware/software platforms to China. The certification expands MBX's reach to 186 countries, offering truly global export and customs support services for customers that supply their solutions on a hardware appliance.
MBX earned registration as a CCC-authorized factory following an on-site audit of the plant's quality management procedures by inspectors from the government's China Quality Certification Centre (CQC). Each platform must also be examined by an accredited Chinese lab before receiving permission to carry the CCC safety mark that is compulsory for the sale of many products in that country.
With its successful CCC factory audit, MBX can now:
- Help customers apply for CCC certification for each new platform, ensuring that their appliances will pass customs inspections in China.
- Ship finished appliances pre-loaded with the customer's software directly from the MBX plant to China, handling all distribution and logistics needs.
- Maintain inventory of the customer's CCC-certified systems in the APAC region to quickly fulfill orders to purchasers in China.
MBX has already received orders for CCC-certified platforms from several customers, including a developer of video communications products and a supplier of network applications for unified communications and traffic analysis. The first systems with the CCC mark will ship this month.
"We initiated the CCC certification process earlier this year because we have seen demand from customers who want to sell their products in the Chinese market double in the last 24 months," said Jill Bellak, Chief Operating Officer, MBX Systems. "Since our factory received ISO:9001 2000 certification in 2006 and was recertified to the newer ISO:9001 2008 standard in 2009, we were able to pass the CCC certification inspection easily and are now equipped to manufacture OEM appliances destined for China as well as 185 other countries."
MBX's purpose-built appliances provide a reliable alternative to delivering software and media applications on CDs, as electronic downloads or in the cloud. Each system is built to optimize the performance of that particular application and pre-loaded with the vendor's software, eliminating the need for IT staff at the customer site to install, configure and fine-tune software setup on general-purpose servers.
An optional 24x7x365 MBX remote monitoring system called SYZMO (System Zero Fault Monitoring) can be used to protect software applications from hardware-related service interruptions. MBX also offers hardware specification assistance, custom branding, full integration services including software imaging, delivery logistics, a customizable customer portal with real-time data on all aspects of the customer's appliance program, and a variety of other services that relieve software vendors of hardware management responsibilities.
MBX serves customers in more than 40 vertical industries, including data archiving, network storage, data and network security, voice over IP, communications and messaging, content management, network monitoring, and spam filtering. End users include businesses and institutions of all kinds.
