MBX Expands Server Appliance Business with New San Jose Office
Gives West Coast ISVs Easy Access to Engineering Services for Custom Hardware Appliances
LIBERTYVILLE, Ill., Oct. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Server appliance builder MBX Systems today announced the opening of a San Jose office to expedite new product introductions for West Cost software vendors that deliver their applications in turnkey hardware/software systems. Engineering and testing services provided by locally based MBX staff optimize each hardware platform for the customer's application, leveraging MBX's two decades of hardware design experience for ISVs and service providers.
Headquartered in suburban Chicago with a state-of-the-art ISO-certified manufacturing plant, MBX specializes in developing, building and integrating customized server appliances for the data storage, cloud storage, video and security markets. The San Jose location is designed to help speed time to market for California-based customers by enabling in-person engineering discussions and evaluations of different hardware configuration options.
The new office also gives West Coast customers faster access to new technologies from key partners like HP, Supermicro, Seagate and Intel; provides compatibility, power consumption, environmental and image revision testing as well as performance evaluations of platform designs under consideration; and serves as a liaison with MBX's Chicago team.
After a platform design is finalized, MBX supplies comprehensive hardware programs that relieve customers of all hardware responsibilities. Services span platform manufacturing, branding, image loading, final assembly, and testing to ensure trouble-free deployment in the field, as well as supply chain and component lifecycle management, accessory sourcing and packaging, global logistics, component lifecycle management and returns management.
"Our West Coast customers have been asking us to establish a local presence so that they can have face-to-face engineering conversations and prototype platform demos without flying to Chicago," said Jill Bellak, MBX President and Chief Operating Officer. "Opening in San Jose makes that possible while also expanding our footprint to support ongoing company growth."
In 2012, that growth prompted a move to a new headquarters that octupled the size of MBX's manufacturing floor and enabled production upgrades ranging from new automation systems to new 'SuperCell' configurations for larger orders. That was followed in 2013 by a 20% expansion of the MBX workforce, a 45% increase in the number of systems built, and a 75% revenue increase from key vertical markets.
MBX San Jose is located at 2635 N. 1st Street #150, San Jose, CA 95134 and can be reached at 800-560-1195.
