MBX Builds OEM Server Appliances with New HP Moonshot System
Customizes & Rebrands Base Platform to Meet Disparate Video & Broadcast Application Needs
LIBERTYVILLE, Ill., April 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- OEM server appliance manufacturer MBX Systems today announced the addition of the new HP Moonshot System to the base platform options it offers for video and broadcast solution providers who deliver their applications on optimized hardware appliances. Availability of the new HP system through MBX, an HP OEM Integrator partner, ensures access to HP's newest server technology for vendors who want complete customization of their hardware as well as complete flexibility for all hardware program services.
Use of the HP Moonshot platform can provide significant benefits for video and broadcast content owners, service providers and others dealing with today's burgeoning video demands and evolving standards. Up to 45 server cartridges specifically engineered for video transcoding workloads can be plugged into the system's 4.3U chassis, delivering HD performance at SD prices along with a twenty-fold increase in HD streams. The platform also provides a 90% reduced footprint compared to traditional servers, an estimated 65% reduction in power requirements, and flexible scale-out with significantly less cabling to support data growth.
"Many of our customers prefer Tier One suppliers like HP for their base hardware platforms," said Jeff Luckett, MBX Director of Engineering. "The new HP Moonshot System not only expands their choices but also provides next-generation technology that can help them cope with exploding demands on their legacy video processing and transcoding infrastructures."
MBX has years of experience in building hardware appliances in the video and broadcast markets. Customers in the sector include SnapStream, a supplier of TV monitoring tools; StorageDNA, a provider of intelligent nearline and archiving workflow solutions; ToolsOnAir, a broadcast production solution company; Vubiquity, a global provider of premium content services; and others.
MBX adds critical engineering, customization, integration, branding and other value-added services to the base hardware, enabling customers to provide turnkey hardware/software solutions for easy deployment in data centers and other end user sites.
As an HP OEM Integrator partner, MBX also offers extensive global support to customers who select HP OEM servers, including built-in compliance with global certification standards, a global warranty on HP equipment that travels with the finished system, and HP technical support spanning more than 180 countries.
MBX is also an Intel Technology Provider Platinum, Seagate Elite Partner, and Nvidia Tesla Preferred Provider.
MBX will be exhibiting in Booth #SL14317 (South Hall, Lower) at the 2015 NAB Show running April 13-16 in Las Vegas.
