MBX Appoints Advisory Board to Guide Strategic Growth Initiatives
Custom Server Appliance Manufacturer Also Expands Executive Management Team
LIBERTYVILLE, Ill., Nov.10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MBX Systems, a leading designer and manufacturer of custom server appliances for OEMs and ISVs, today announced the formation of the first advisory board in the company's 20-year history to help shape and drive the next phase of business growth. MBX has also expanded the executive management team to assist in developing and executing a new five-year plan in tandem with the board.
"We began focusing exclusively on engineering and manufacturing custom server appliances in 2008, expanded our original plant a year later, and moved to a new headquarters with an eightfold increase in manufacturing space to accommodate ongoing growth in 2012. Now we are facing strategic decisions about diversifying our product portfolio, service offerings and vertical markets to maintain our momentum, and we recognized the value of having outside expertise to help us chart that path," said MBX President Jill Bellak. "Our new advisory board will serve that role and assist us in broadening the business to take advantage of new market opportunities."
The four advisory board members bring decades of experience in building businesses in disparate industry sectors, helping them both scale and diversify, and addressing the challenges of different growth stages. They are:
- James E. Holtzman, currently Entrepreneur in Residence at Catapult Chicago, a collaborative co-working space and facilitator for digital startups. His previous experience includes CEO and CFO positions at healthcare, cloud computing, Software as a Service (SaaS), enterprise and prepackaged software, high-tech manufacturing and telecom companies, including Kapow Events, Prognosis Innovation Healthcare, Prognosis Health Information Systems, Fieldglass Inc., and others.
- Andrew J. Lauter, Founder, CEO and President of PSC Group, LLC, an IT and professional services consulting firm that serves the middle market. He is also co-founder and CTO of Accertify, LLC, which offers a suite of solutions to prevent card-not-present fraud, and formerly served in other technology posts including consulting and technical services manager for Chicago-based IT consultancy Whittman-Hart.
- Jimmy Secretarski, Managing Partner at Atlanta-based H&Q Advisory Partners, which provides investment banking services to successful middle market IT and business services companies. He previously led the IT & Professional Services Group at CHILDS Advisory Partners. He has also worked at UBS PaineWebber, JP Morgan/Hambrecht & Quist, Jefferies and Morgan Keegan.
- Jeff Wallingford, Founder and CEO of Boulder-based gaugewear, inc., a provider of wearable non-invasive core body temperature measurement solutions designed for medical, military and athletic environments. He has also served as GM of $500 million footwear company Crocs, VP of manufacturing supply chain and operations consultancy Riverwood Solutions, and VP of electronics manufacturer Flextronics.
New members of MBX's executive management team are Carl Nothnagel, Vice President of Operations, and Chris Tucker, Vice President of Customer Engagement. Nothnagel has responsibility for supply chain, manufacturing and global logistics activities, while Tucker oversees business development, account management and marketing. They join Bellak, CEO Tom Crowley CIO Justin Formella, and CFO Len Petty as the senior management guiding the company's strategic business direction and day-to-day operations.
