MBX Adds HP Hardware Option for ISVs' Custom Server Appliances
Base HP OEM Platforms Provide Global Coverage, Can Be Customized & Branded by MBX
LIBERTYVILLE, Ill., July 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MBX Systems, a leading manufacturer of custom server appliances for independent software vendors and service providers, today announced the addition of HP Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) servers to the hardware options available to customers. As an HP OEM-Integrator partner, MBX can now build customers' turnkey hardware/software systems using HP hardware as the base platform while also customizing and rebranding HP products to meet customer needs.
Access to HP servers, storage, networking and technology services gives MBX customers a new Tier One hardware option featuring full global support, including built-in compliance with global certification standards for easy worldwide sales. Additionally, the option includes a global warranty on HP equipment that travels with the finished system and HP technical support spanning more than 180 countries to expedite problem resolution.
MBX adds critical integration and value-added services to deliver fully customized hardware platforms pre-loaded with the customer's software. Each platform is designed by the company's platform engineers to optimize the software performance and produced to order with specialty components, custom branding, software imaging, testing and more. MBX also offers logistics and inventory management services.
One MBX customer who opted to base its server appliance on an HP OEM server is a network security solution provider planning an expansion to overseas markets. MBX designed the customer's platform on a standard 1U HP ProLiant DL360 Server, adding select components including two 10Gb network adapters used to analyze network traffic. MBX is also imaging the customer's systems and testing them with a custom burn-in script, branding each unit, inventorying finished systems, and drop-shipping them to end users as needed.
"Part of our engineering and design process involves determining the best type of hardware for the customer's application and business needs. Adding HP OEM servers to our hardware portfolio broadens the choices for customers who prefer Tier One suppliers, require global coverage or both," said Jeff Luckett, MBX Director of Engineering.
"Partners like MBX play an invaluable role in the growth of our OEM program. They have the capability to provide highly customized appliance deployment programs to support the needs of OEMs and software providers," said Gary Gammon, HP Director of OEM Sales for the Americas. "As a company that is dedicated specifically to this space, MBX is an ideal addition to our OEM-Integrator roster."
