MBA Challenge Video Contest Highlights Impact of Business Schools in Developing Countries
WASHINGTON, Feb. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Global Business School Network (GBSN) is pleased to announce the MBA Challenge, a video contest that celebrates the impact MBAs are having in fostering development in emerging markets. We invite current MBA students and recent graduates to submit videos of their work highlighting the applications of business principles to real world challenges in developing countries.
GBSN thinks that business schools and their graduates play a key role in realizing development goals – from creating social innovation to improving health care to achieving shared economic growth. This contest is being launched to recognize just how powerful their impact can be in achieving development successes.
Over the next two months, GBSN will be accepting video submissions for the MBA Challenge. One outstanding MBA will be invited to present her/his innovative work to the participants of GBSN's 6th annual Conference co-hosted by IPADE Business School in Mexico City on June 21, 2011.
The MBA Challenge focuses on a specific set of criteria including innovation, sustainability, impact in developing countries, and linkages to business education. A committee of GBSN Member business schools, GBSN corporate supporters, and experts in the field of business education and private sector development will select the three finalists. The winner will be invited to showcase her/his work at GBSN's 6th annual Conference and network with top international business school deans and faculty, high-level corporate sector representatives, and participants from foundations, NGOs, and other development partners from around the world. Second and third place will also be highlighted at the annual conference and the winners will be given visibility for their achievements by GBSN's global network.
In the words of Guy Pfeffermann, GBSN's founder and CEO, "By training a new generation of problem-solvers, business schools have an enormous potential for improving the quality of life in developing countries."
