MAZ Re-Imagines The Future Of Mobile & Tablet Magazines For iOS 8
NEW YORK, Sept. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MAZ, whose publishing platform powers nearly 1,000 apps for publishers like Conde Nast, Forbes, USA Today, and The Economist, announced a total overhaul of their iOS apps in conjunction with the release of iOS 8 as well as iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Their managed cloud services automatically updated and submitted all apps running on the MAZ platform to Apple without publishers needing to do any additional work.
The updated apps feature a modern, gesture-based storefront redesign that draws inspiration from the physical world. Apps open with a stack of covers like one would find on a coffee table. However, using the power and depth of iOS 8's graphics engine, the apps are distinctly digital in their use of live-frosted colors, minimalist interface, and uniquely placed play buttons that one would normally expect to see in a video or music app.
"It's time to start asking the tough questions," says MAZ CEO, Paul Canetti. "The mobile and tablet world is very different from print, and what I've seen is a lot of the publishing industry just spinning its wheels. We're building a new paradigm that actually makes money for publishers using state-of-the-art technology and impeccable design."
The redesigned apps are specifically geared to drive more revenue for publishers using purposeful design and deep consumer marketing research. Each app now has free content previews with targeted marketing tools aimed at converting more people into paid users.
In addition to improved sales conversion tools, the updated apps now offer new and unique monetization options for publishers by introducing an interactive carousel of dynamic ads that can be sold as prime inventory to advertisers.
The new MAZ updates are now available for all publishers using MAZ. Visit mazdigital.com for more information.
