MAZ Launches NewsX, Mobile/OTT Platform Built For Breaking News
NEW YORK, Sept. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- New York based technology media company, MAZ, has introduced its newest product, NewsX, built specifically for news organizations with a focus on real-time updates and livestream video. MAZ has launched NewsX in partnership with Bloomberg, National Review, Observer, The Hill, and American City Business Journals.
NewsX was a natural addition to the MAZ product lineup, complementing Phoenix, an app management system designed for magazine brands, and TVX, designed for broadcast and video publishers, both of which launched in the past year.
With NewsX, MAZ now has combined the best elements of their other products into a new platform that is optimized for the combination of article and video content that make news organizations unique. As a single system that manages both mobile and OTT apps, it allows publishers to manage and distribute content to every device from a single dashboard so that news brands can reach users wherever they are.
Some standout NewsX features include Livestream Video, Geo Fencing, and Enhanced Push Notifications with Deeplink support as well as In-Notification Save and In-Notification Share functionality. Users can tap on a mobile notification to save for later, which automatically creates a queue of video content ready to watch on TV. NewsX also introduces Dynamic Metering, which gives publishers the power to created metered paywalls based on a specific number of views or a limited amount of time, all of which can be updated on-the-fly from a simple to use dashboard.
This can be combined with a variety of monetization options including subscriptions, authenticated access, in-app purchases, display and video ads with built-in DFP and SpotX integrations, native ad units, sponsorships, and support for various native ad formats.
"News media has never been more important than it is right now, and news publishers have unique and specialized needs," said MAZ CEO, Paul Canetti. "We built NewsX with the understanding that these brands need tools that support both text and video, across all devices and platforms, and things need to work lightning fast to deliver the news in real time. This is just the beginning of our mission to create the world's best news delivery technology."
NewsX currently outputs to iOS, Android, Apple Watch, Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, and more platforms will be added ongoing.
