May-Leng Yau Patterson is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Professional
OAKLAND, Mich., Jan. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- May-Leng Yau Patterson is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the automobile industry. May-Leng is the Head of World Class Manufacturing Mexico Operations for Chrysler Group LLC.
In this position, May-Leng is responsible for leading the implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodology for all Mexico manufacturing operations. World Class Manufacturing is a production methodology that focuses on reducing waste, increasing productivity, and improving quality and safety in a systematic and organized way. WCM engages the workforce to provide and implement suggestions on how to improve their jobs and their plants. The methodology, first implemented by Fiat in 2006 and introduced to Chrysler Group as part of the alliance between the two companies in June 2009, has been instrumental in Chrysler Group's turnaround.
May-Leng specializes in Lean Manufacturing; Supply Chain Management; Logistics Management; Strategy Development; Purchasing; Material Handling Techniques; Industrial Engineering; Logistics Engineering; World Class Logistics Standards and Methodology. As Director of World Class Logistics Center of Competence, May-Leng led the development of lean supply chain solutions, which included the design and implementation of innovative parts handling and logistics methods to reduce internal plant material handling costs and external supply chain costs. This encompassed the entire Supply Chain from receiving inbound parts from suppliers to delivery to the production line and shipments of outbound finished engines, transmissions, vehicle and service parts; development of best practices and providing coaching direction for operational implementation across Chrysler Group's 26 stamping, engine, transmission, vehicle assembly plants and MOPAR service parts distribution center locations located in U.S., Canada and Mexico.
As a result of her dedication and expertise within the field of logistics, May-Leng has been honored as a Delegate Featured Leader by International Women's Leadership Association in 2013, as well as being named as one of 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry by Automotive News in September 2010. She was also honored as a 2010 Professional of the Year in the Automobile Manufacturing Industry by Cambridge Who's Who in August 2011. Furthermore, she was awarded the title of Empire Who's Who Professional of the Year representing the automobile industry from 2006-2007. In her spare time, she enjoys softball, baseball and basketball.
May-Leng earned both her Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Analysis and Master of Science degree in Operations Research from the University of Miami.
